Bringing Gippslandʼs best produce together

A spectacular array of Gippslandʼs best food and wine will be on offer this Sunday at Feast on East at Metung.

The festival turns the Metung Village Green into a food and wine enclave from 11am to 5pm, with live music and stunning waterfront views across Bancroft Bay to complete a relaxing Sunday afternoon by the Gippsland Lakes.

Itʼs a perfect way to sample so many Gippsland produce delights all in one place, with the price of the ticket including a wine tasting glass to take home.

And thereʼs something for every taste bud across a diverse range of food stands with a mouthwatering selection of sweet and savoury creations from Albert & Co Coffee & Food, Raw Country, The Lamb Shack from Forge Creek Lamb, Chocodence, Tambo Valley Honey, Bancroft Bites, Culinaire, Froute and La Matanza.

Food & Fibre Gippsland interim chief executive officer, Dr Nicola Watts, says events like Feast on East at Metung are an important driver in local economies, while also providing a very engaging platform to showcase the best produce from the region.

“We have some incredible food and wine in Gippsland, and to bring a diverse range of suppliers together in such a picturesque setting is an ideal way to show what the region has to offer, giving locals the opportunity to enjoy what is in their own neighbourhood whilst also treating long weekend visitors to a delicious feast,” she said.

“Our region is growing in status and popularity as a ʻfoodieʼ destination, and one of the key activities pursued on a daily basis by Food & Fibre Gippsland is to tell the story of the quality produce that is grown and created here.

“Events such as Feast on East at Metung provide great exposure for our producers, their businesses and their passion for this part of Victoria they are proud to call home.”
