The Bairnsdale and District Agricultural Society committee has been meeting regularly to make plans and format the Bairnsdale Show ready for Saturday, November 9.
This year the event is celebrating 140 years - a great achievement from all the past, dedicated committee members, stewards, and volunteers throughout the years.
Show day will once again be a fun-filled day for all to enjoy. Save the date now. Leading up to the show there is a great deal of work taking place, planning events, entertainment, sourcing sponsorship and preparing the schedule with a large variety of sections for all the community to express their talents, by entering their exhibits.
To enable the show to run successfully and not to drain the already active committee, assistance is being sought. The committee inviting the public to an informal meeting to seek expressions of interest in the varied areas of the show.
If you feel you would like to be a part of the show this year and have a little spare time to help, pre show, during or even show day, head along to the Old Station Café on Wednesday, August 14, between 3 and 5pm and 6 and 7pm to meet with current committee members.
It could be just a couple of hours assisting with an event, ensuring the exhibits are placed in the correct sections, perhaps you have a specific section you have always thought you could help in.
You may have some great ideas to bring forward too. The committee feels if it can approach more of the community, the many roles which need to be filled can be shared.
Perhaps you or your group may enjoy the challenge, mix socially and achieve something which will benefit the town.
If you feel this is for you, or know someone, the committee would greatly appreciate your attention, and hopes to see you at the meeting.
Please contact Julie or Heather (secretary) at the Bairnsdale Show if you are unable to attend.
